KATVAI ARTS PRESS RELEASE Mythically inspired 4 piece progressive metal band Seven Against Thebes (7AT) hails from Seattle, WA. In the Summer of 2010 the band finally released their long anticipated self titled debut CD. The CD is a strong statement from start to finish with musical textures reminiscent of Tool, Stone Temple Pilots, Alice in Chains, and Deftones. The band originally formed back in 2007 by guitarist Cyrus Rhodes, drummer Bruce Burgess, bassist "Mr. Black" and vocalist "Little Rusty" formerly of Knucklebone. 7AT guitarist/songwriter Cyrus explained in a recent interview that the music of 7AT is merely a musical platform for his own personal misanthropy ( strong dislike of the human species) but that Seven Against Thebes is also a metaphor for good vs evil. Many of the songs compare the struggles of ancient man to modern man. The music of 7AT has been described as dark, thought provoking, and melodic. The 3 singles from the CD; "Equilibrium", "Nemesis", and "Swandiver" will hit the airways in early July 2010.

7AT EP RELEASED There's been alot of rumors floating round about the upcoming 7AT EP. Well in response to a million or so e-mails I've received concerning a possible 7AT (EP) I finally have an answer for everyone. - You can downloaded it here Cyrus informed me that the  5 song Equilibrium EP will be available for free for a limited time only. You can also download 7AT music on many of the following: Tradebit, GroupieTunes, Verizon, PayPlay, Inprodicon, GreatIndieMusic, Napster, Rhapsody, Amazon, Ruckus, Amie Street, and Apple I-Tunes. Listen for the first singles Equilibrium, Nemesis, & Swandiver to hit the airways this Summer on may local radio stations around the Seattle area.

OCTOBER 2009_____________________________________________________________________7AT MUSIC FEATURED IN DEMOLITION DERBY (DVD)

MUSIC OF 7AT FEATURED IN DVD Seven Against Thebes just signed a 5 year contract with media group West Sound Community Television to have it's music featured on many of its demolition derby DVD's. The DVD series is called Saturday Night Destruction and features lots of high energy derby car action. West Sound TV releases about 5 of these DVD's annually and is expanding its operations to film derby car action all across the country. 7AT was hand picked from many local bands by West Sound Producer Brent Woolard. Bret explains "The music of 7AT is perfect for Saturday Night Destruction. We look forward to working with 7AT over the next several years in delivering full throttle derby car action with the music of 7AT." Be sure to listen for songs Nemesis, Swandiver, Suicide Note, and Equilibrium playing in the background. Swandivwer was selected by Brent Woolard as the official  theme song for Saturday Night Destruction.

APRIL 2009__________________________________________________________________________________________DRUM DYNASTY (CD) RELEASED

DRUMMER BRUCE BURGESS RELEASES DRUM DYNASTY CD In case you haven't heard, Seven Against Thebes (7AT) drummer Bruce Burgess recently teamed up with Seattle percussionists Arturo Rodriguez, Marco Zonka & film composer Kevin Christensen for Drum Dynasty. Drum Dynasty is a radical drum CD that showcases advanced odd measure drum and tribal rhythms meshed with Ambient world music. This self titled debut double CD explores African, Algerian, Haitian, Greek, & Arabic rhythms, and was officially released in April at the World Rhythm Festival held in Seattle, WA. Bruce was on hand to sign autographs, meet fans and check out many of the events happening around the festival.
