Cyrus is the visionary founder, producer, and primary songwriter of Seven Against Thebes, & thinks of himself more as a songwriter/producer rather than an awesome guitarist. While he was in the United Stated Navy, Cyrus was stationed onboard a Trident Ballistic Missile Submarine located in the Pacific Northwest. To cure boredom while underwater, Cyrus spent much of his off watch time venting out that would later appear on the Seven Against Thebes debut album. So it's true that all the songs on the debut album were all written underwater. Cyrus has played in countless cover bands over the years, but during that time Cyrus never lost his passion & vision for writing well crafted, thought provoking melodies. His many musical influences include Tool, Filter, Nine Inch Nails, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, Audioslave, Live, Chevelle, R.E.M, Rush, The Cocteau Twins, Suzanne Vega, King Crimson, Peter Gabriel and Depeche Mode just to name a few. Cyrus is also a producer (Seven Against Thebes, Drum Dynasty, Fred's a Girl) He is owner of Katavi Arts, a production company that helps independent artists achieve success in the Music Industry. His vast network of music professionals is designed to help independent artists become professional. Cyrus also scouts for several prominent A&R Representatives along the west coast, and is constantly on the look out for unsigned talent. For a detailed look at Cyrus's guitar gear used during the PIGBOAT sessions. Cyrus Interviews 2007 - Meet the man behind the mask
