How do you describe Seven Against Thebes Bass player David Black? How about intense, mysterious and very, very, very dark. These are all attributes that landed him the nickname "Mr. Black" by all his band mates. Anyone who has ever heard Dave play before, either live or in the studio knows why. He has a unique smooth signature groove that always comes across as sounding extremely eerie. It's a strange phenomena even Dave can't explain. Despite all the rumors Dave insists his FeFay "Herr Scheartz" is not possessed, & vehemently denies being the devil. It's something we may never be able to explain.

Dave's many bass influences include Jaco Pastorius, Michael Manring, Robert Trujillo (Suicidal Tendencies, Infectious Grooves, Metallica), Ryan Martinie (Mudveyne), Peter Steele (Type O Negative), Les Claypool (Primus), Geddy Lee (Rush), & Robin Eaglestone (Cradle of Filth) just to name a few.
